2002-02-21 & 2:45 p.m. : it's still a puzzle

dilemma:

when your boss leaves and on the way out says "you can leave early if you want, just check your messages"

how early is "early"?

we are now within the 2 hr mark of my normal leaving time. i am thinking if i leave at 3, i will be leaving an hour and a half early, and that's totally leaving early.

if i wait much longer than that, it hardly seems like a big deal because i will still catch traffic.

however.

i leave early all the time. i mean, this week has been particularly good in the "jessica is a superstar and everyone knows it" dept, what with complimentary letters from clients flying in from all directions, and then having the exec secretary say something to Big Boss when we were all at lunch the other day.

it's all kinda creepy.

anyway, i leave early a lot of the time, and though i work through lunch a good 98% of the time, i just feel hinky about leaving like, now.

i think 3's a good time. i'll get home by 330-345, i can take a nap and still be rocking and rolling for the rest of the night.

in other news, i told my brother about the weird motorcycle chp experience and i he said that cops do that every once in a while when they think everyone is driving along too fast.

interesting.

and, complete horseshit, in the case of yesterday morning. there is no such thing as driving fast in morning rush on a weekday.

so, i reject that answer.

it's still a puzzle.
