i just back from the fabric store and i am telling you people, you are SO BUMMED that you did not.

#1! i got enough fabric for TWO duvet covers and TWO sets of sheets with ribbon trim

the fabric store makes me cap.

i love all the ladies, with their clucking and their sweet homeliness and their stories and their pursed lips and their "peggy" and "grace" and "sammie". i love looking at all the patterns and everything.

and i cannot tell you how much i love ribbon.

i LOVE ribbon.

all i know is, i hope to one day have my own sewing machine so i can make all my favorite people duvet covers.

as it stands now, though, dee is making me two sets of bedding, and there's still enough material at her house for half a set of old material, so in a month or so we'll go back to joanne fabrics and then i will get ANOTHER WHOLE SET.

christ i'm lucky.

when i get to iowa i'll start to learn to knit, so that i can have plenty of scarves and square-hats by the time it's cold.

it smells like good food in my house.
