2001-07-16 & 10:21 p.m. : may we all make it home safely

tonight, i got a mix cd from across the country and my brother and i drove around in his red car and we listened to it.

now, there are two things that make this special. number one, for about two hours before we went out jon and i rolled around on my bed acting goofy, him climbing all over me, tickling me and squeezing my nose til i begged him to stop. i know what you're thinking "uhhhh...tickle?", but jon has a special game he plays with me. it's called the "i'm stronger than you and i can do whatever i want to you and you can't really do that much about it" game. he plays the same game with stuart, but then he just wraps stuart around his shoulders like a mink stole and walks around the room. and to be honest with you, i don't freak out as much when jon tickles me as when other people do. i guess i'm most comfortable with him.

so we drove into the dusk light all glowing and smiling from quality dork time together, which we have not had for a long time. and after the frustration of this weekend, i certainly needed it.

the second thing that made this so special is that all jon has in his car is a cd walkman and some tinny plug in speakers. his car got broken into a few months ago and none of us have $200 laying around to throw down onto a car stereo, so he's had to make do.

so it's jon and me and the view of the refinery and the marina and purple and grey and orange clouds and some of the sweetest music you have ever heard. if you want to, here.

and tonight i shut jon out at tony hawk pro skater 2.

and tonight i got kissed on the cheek by a lovely girl.

and tonight the world can't make up its mind. i'm shivering and my fingertips are like little chips of ice clacking away on the keyboard.

and tonight i got my cd burner to work, so at least theoretically, project soundtrack is back online.

i know you were all worrying.

i'm going to go have a smoke with the kids on the porch.

nothing feels ordered right now.
